A portable fish hook remover is a handheld tool designed to remove hooks from a fish’s mouth quickly and safely. It helps reduce handling time and lowers the risk of finger injury. Anglers often use it for catch-and-release fishing or when handling fish with sharp teeth.
RTI’s 6″ portable fish hook remover stands out for its balanced design and durable materials. It features an anodized aluminum tube that keeps the weight low while resisting corrosion. In addition, the soft PVC handle offers a comfortable, non-slip grip for better control. To improve usability, the stainless-steel hook tip is rounded to prevent cutting the fishing line during removal.
Furthermore, each unit comes with an adjustable nylon lanyard for convenient carrying and storage. The series also includes multiple sizes, such as 9″, 12″, and 15″, giving buyers flexibility for different applications. Overall, this product suits wholesalers, distributors, and private-label manufacturers who need reliable and easy-to-maintain fishing accessories.

Advantages of Portable Fish Hook Remover
- Light and corrosion-resistant aluminum body: The hook remover uses anodized aluminum, which keeps the tool lightweight and durable in both fresh and saltwater conditions. It performs well outdoors and remains easy to handle even after long use.
- Rounded stainless-steel hook tip: The stainless-steel hook features a smooth, rounded edge that helps remove hooks cleanly without damaging the fishing line. It provides reliable strength for daily fishing work.
- Comfortable PVC handle: A molded PVC handle gives a firm, non-slip grip. The surface feels soft in hand and supports steady control when removing hooks.
- Adjustable nylon lanyard: Each remover includes a nylon lanyard that adjusts easily and attaches to gear or clothing. This design helps keep the tool within reach during use.
- Multiple size options: RTI supplies the hook remover in several sizes — 6″, 9″, 12″, and 15″. This variety allows buyers to match tools with different fishing applications or product lines.
6″ Hook Remover Manufacturing Process
Design & Prototyping
Production begins with CAD design and 3D prototyping. Engineers confirm the handle dimensions, hook alignment, and lanyard position to ensure comfortable grip and accurate operation.
Material Selection & Inspection
RTI sources 6061-T6 anodized aluminum tubing and 304 stainless-steel rods for the hook component. Incoming material is checked for surface uniformity and hardness (within HB 95–100 for aluminum and HRB 80–85 for stainless).
CNC Machining & Tube Forming
Aluminum tubes are cut to precise 6″ lengths with ±0.2 mm tolerance. CNC turning and milling ensure straight alignment for smooth movement between the tube and the stainless shaft. Edges are deburred and chamfered for user safety and smooth assembly.
Hook Fabrication
Stainless-steel rods are cut, bent, and heat-treated at approximately 1050 °C for durability. After cooling and polishing, the hook tips are rounded to a 1.5 mm radius to prevent line damage. Every batch undergoes manual inspection to confirm consistent hook curvature.
Surface Treatment
The aluminum body is anodized at a 10–15 µm coating thickness, providing corrosion resistance suitable for saltwater exposure. This process also supports optional custom colors for OEM orders. Stainless parts receive polishing and passivation to prevent oxidation.
Handle Molding & Assembly
Handles are molded from soft PVC using a precision steel mold. Each handle weighs around 20g and fits tightly onto the aluminum tube without adhesives. Skilled operators manually assemble the hook, tube, handle, and lanyard, ensuring smooth and reliable movement.
Quality Control
Each production lot undergoes random sampling per ISO 2859-1 standards (AQL 1.5).
Packaging & Labeling
Cleaned tools are packed in individual polybags or blister cards. For OEM clients, custom boxes or printed cards are available. Each export carton holds 100 pcs, measuring roughly 45 × 35 × 25 cm, with gross weight around 14 kg per carton.
Shipping & Logistics
After final inspection, finished goods are palletized and stored in a dry warehouse area at <60 % RH. Orders ship via sea or airfreight depending on volume.
Q1: What is your MOQ for custom or OEM orders?
A: MOQ is 500 pcs for custom branding and packaging. For standard stock orders, MOQ may be lower — contact sales with required specs.
Q2: Can you add my logo and custom packaging?
A: Yes. We support logo printing, custom boxes, and private label packaging. Provide artwork and Pantone colors when requesting a quote.
Q3: What finish options do you offer on the aluminum tube?
A: Standard finish is anodized. We can supply plain anodize, color anodize, or simple laser-engraved logos depending on order quantity.
Q4: How do you protect the hook remover during shipping?
A: We pack tools in inner boxes or blister cards and then in export cartons. We can also apply foam inserts for higher-end retail kits.
Q5: What tests do you perform before shipment?
A: We perform visual inspection, assembly checks, pull tests on lanyards, and sample function tests to confirm safe hook removal and handle fit.
Q6: Can I order multiple sizes in one shipment?
A: Yes. We can mix sizes (6″, 9″, 12″, 15″) within a single PO. Tell us the size mix when you request a pro forma invoice.
Q7: What is the standard lead time?
A: Standard lead time is about 60 days from order confirmation for custom/OEM orders. Exact timing depends on quantity and artwork approval.
Q8: Do you offer sample orders?
A: Yes. Samples are available. For branded samples we charge artwork and tooling fees. Contact sales for sample costs and shipping.
